Cookie Jars

Granny always baked some awsome verieties of different kinds of cookies, and I always started looking for those cookies as soon as I walked in and hugged her, I could sometimes smell them baking, I would head straight for the cookie jar. And after all these years old habbits die hard, I still do the same thing to this day. Cookie jars, also known as biscuit jars, have been used in England since the latter part of the 18th century. They were often made of glass with metal lids. Cookie jars became popular in the America around the time of the Great Depression in 1929. Cookies are most commonly baked until crisp or just long enough that they remain soft, but some kinds of cookies are not baked at all. Cookies are made in a wide variety of styles, using an array of ingredients including sugars, spices, chocolate, butter, peanut butter, nuts or dried fruits. The softness of the cookie may depend on how long it is baked.
